The name of our country is People's Republic of Bangladesh. It is one the most beautiful countries of the world. The name of the capital of Bangladesh is Dhaka. The total area of our country is 1,47,570 square km. Our country was a part of Pakistan before 1971. Then we freed our country in 1971 at the cost of 3 million lives. Our independence day is 26th March and Victory day is 16th December.
Our mother tongue is Bangla which was achieved through a bloody struggle. In order to show respect to our struggle, the UNESCO declared 21st February as International Mother Language day. Our country is a river oriented country. The main rivers of our country are the Padma, the Jamuna and the Meghna. People of all religions live here peacefully. The famous places of our country are Sundarban, Cox'sBazar, St Martin, Kuakata. People celebrate Eid Ul Fitr, Eid Ul Ajha, Pahela Baishakh etc. Bangladesh is a developing country. The economics of this country is mainly based on agriculture. The main crops rice, jute, tea, different fruits etc. The country also earns a large amount of foreign remittance by exporting RMG and Manpower. Rice and fish are the main food items.
Hilsha is the national fish, Doyel is the national bird, Shapla is the national flower, Hadudu is the national game and Royal Bengal Tiger is the national beast of our country. People of this country know how to live happily and peacefully among poverty and national hazards.
