Paragraph: A Railway Station

A railway station is a place where trains stop and start. It is a very busy and crowded place. People come here to get on or get off a train. Every station has a platform for the passengers. Big stations have a roof over the platform, but small stations are usually open. There are many rooms at a station. These include the station master’s office, a booking office, and waiting rooms. You can also find food shops, book stalls, and small shops selling various things. The station is always full of people. Many people stand in long lines to buy tickets. Sometimes they push each other to get ahead. When a train arrives, the station becomes very noisy. The flagman shows red and green flags to the train. Hawkers shout to sell their goods, and porters carry heavy bags for the passengers. However, when the train leaves, the station becomes quiet again. A railway station is a place of great activity and sound.
