Story: A Stitch in Time Saves Nine



Once there was a man in a village. He had much wealth but he did not like to spend them. He had a son. One day the son fell down from a tree. When he was taken to a doctor, the doctor advised an injection worth 50 taka. But the man defied the doctor's advice thinking that his son would cure without medicine. Days went on and his pain increased gradually. At last, the son became seriously ill and he was taken to a hospital. The doctors said that the son needed an operation and it would cost fifty thousand taka. The man was still unwilling to spend money. His wife and relatives scolded him and then he agreed to pay the money. At the same time he realized that if he had spent fifty taka in time, would not have to spent fifty thousand now.
